Rulebook for Problem Statement Selection

1. Problem Statement Release
  • A document containing all available problem statements will be shared in the designated group at the beginning of the selection process.
  • Participants must review the problem statements carefully during this time.
2. Selection Process
  • Time Frame: Participants will have 15 minutes from the time the problem statement document is shared to make their selections.
  • Spreadsheet Access: A spreadsheet for problem statement selection will be provided 15 minutes after the problem statement document is released.
  • Closing of Spreadsheet: The spreadsheet will close 15 minutes after it has been opened. Participants must select their problem statement within this timeframe.
3. Locking in Problem Statements
  • To lock in a problem statement, teams must select their desired statement from the spreadsheet and input the corresponding Problem Statement ID.
  • First-Come, First-Serve Basis: Each problem statement can only be chosen by a maximum of three teams. Once a statement has been selected by three teams, it will be marked as unavailable in the spreadsheet.
4. Team Selection Rules
  • Each team must designate a team leader responsible for making the selection and entering the Problem Statement ID in the spreadsheet.
  • Teams must ensure they are selecting a problem statement that aligns with their skills and interests.
5. Confirmation of Selection
  • After the spreadsheet closes, the organizers will confirm the selections and notify teams of their assigned problem statements.
  • Teams must check the final selection list to ensure their choice is confirmed.
6. Changes to Selections
  • Once the spreadsheet is closed and selections are confirmed, no changes to problem statement selections will be allowed.
  • Teams are encouraged to discuss and finalize their choices prior to the selection deadline.
7. Communication
  • Any questions or issues regarding the selection process should be directed to the organizers in the group chat or during designated Q&A sessions.
8. Fair Play
  • All teams are expected to adhere to the rules and respect each other’s selections.
  • Any attempts to manipulate the selection process may result in disqualification.
